X-axis scaling error increases with length (xTool Studio)

Problem Summary

I am experiencing a systematic X-axis scaling error that increases with cut length when using xTool Studio. Short cuts are accurate, but longer cuts are progressively undersized along the X-axis.

Measured Results (approximate)

10 mm target → ~9.91 mm actual (≈0.09 mm error)

100 mm target → ~98.25 mm actual (≈1.75 mm error)

150 mm target → ~147.5 mm actual (≈2.5 mm error)

200 mm target → ~196.75 mm actual (≈3.25 mm error)

250 mm target → ~245.5 mm actual (≈4.5 mm error)

Y-axis measurements remain consistent and within ~0.2 mm across all lengths.

Key Observation

The error scales proportionally with distance, which indicates:

Incorrect X-axis steps/mm or internal calibration value

Firmware or motion-control scaling issue

Mechanical ratio mismatch or belt slip

Kerf width, laser spot size, and focus error do not produce a linear scaling deviation.

Manufacturer Response

xTool support has stated this behavior is “within normal operating parameters” and cited a 0.3 mm deviation on a 50×50 mm test. This does not address the 4.5 mm deviation at 250 mm, nor the linear relationship between length and error.

What I’m Looking For

Confirmation whether xTool Studio or firmware applies fixed axis scaling values

Whether X-axis calibration is user-adjustable

Known issues with X-axis motion accuracy on this model

Remote troubleshooting assistance (paid is fine)

I’m trying to correct a measurable motion error — not debate tolerance — and would appreciate guidance from others who have resolved similar issues.
