This is a minor issue, but an issue nonetheless. The protective cover on my F2 Ultra won't stay all the way closed. The spring tension is too high. Not sure if this can be adjusted which would be nice. It creeps up about an inch to 1.5" during use.
Meanwhile I placed a weight on top of the cover in the front, a Lithium battery from some of my models. Weight is 12 oz.
I can cast one with #8 lead shot in epoxy in a custom mold to fit nice.
Anybody else having this problem with the F2 Ultra?
This is coming in for awareness to xTool for future design enhancements.
That being said, I upgraded from the F1 Ultra to the F2 Ultra and lived with the F2 Ultra for a month or two. I'll offer some initial impressions of the machine thus far. I've engraved a couple of hundred metallic business cards using the Samcraft jig.
The machine is an order of magnitude advancement over the F1 Ultra that I owned and used for about a year. Much more stable and consistent. Doesn't require a warmup cycle to obtain full power and is very consistent. The work coming off of it is perfect. No resets and recalibration every few weeks. The F2 Ultra is a definite winner. Same holds true for the P2S when compared to the P2. The P3 arrived this week, not setup yet but hoping to see a similar advancement when compared to the P2S which is a real nice machine albeit a bit noisy. The acrylic work I've done on the P2S is beautiful and the machine is very accurate.
