To engrave cylindrical or irregular materials, you can use Rotary Attachment 2 (RA2) to work with xTool M1.RA2 provides roller components and can work in Roller mode. RA2 Pro provides roller and jaw chuck components and can work in both Roller and Chuck modes. For details about the components and functions, see User Manual for Rotary Attachment 2 (RA2).
Before you connect RA2 to xTool M1, you need to use risers to raise the height of xTool M1.

Riser Gear - Roller | This measuring bar is applicable only to the Roller mode. It includes three ranges, namely α, β, and γ, in green, yellow, and red, respectively. It determines the side of the riser facing up. For example, if the perimeter of a material is within range α, place the raisers with side α facing up when raising xTool M1 up. |
Riser Gear - Chuck | This measuring bar is applicable only to the Chuck mode. It includes two ranges, namely β and γ, in yellow and red, respectively. It determines the side of the riser facing up. For example, if the perimeter of a material is within range β, place the raisers with side β facing up when raising xTool M1 up. |
Rotary Attachment Gear - Roller | This measuring bar is applicable only to the Roller mode. It includes three ranges, namely A, B, and C, in green, yellow, and red, respectively. It determines the level of the adjustable roller. For example, if the perimeter of a material is within range A, set the adjustable roller to level A. |
When using the Roller mode of RA2, you need to find out the range of the perimeter of the material on the Riser Gear - Roller and Rotary Attachment Gear - Roller measuring bars.
As shown in the preceding figure, the perimeter of the material is 180 mm, falling in range β on
Riser Gear - Roller and in range B on Rotary Attachment Gear - Roller. Therefore, to process the material, you need to place the risers with side β facing up and set the adjustable roller of RA2 to level B.
When using the Chuck mode of RA2, you need to find out the range of the perimeter of the material on the Rotary Attachment Gear - Roller measuring bar.
As shown in the preceding figure, the perimeter of the material is 180 mm, falling in range β on
Riser Gear - Chuck. Therefore, to process the material, you need to place the risers with side β facing up.
1. Disconnect xTool M1 from any power supply.
2. Open the lid, unscrew the screws that fix the baseplate, and remove the baseplate.
3. User the risers to raise xTool M1 up.
Note: To determine which side of the risers facing up, see Use the risers.
4. Insert the connector of the connection cable into the port on RA2。
Note: If you are to use the Roller mode, you may need to set the level of the adjustable roller based on the diameter of the material to be processed. To determine the level, see Roller mode.
5. Place RA2 in the center of the working area of xTool M1, with its motor facing the rear plate of xTool M1.
6. Insert the other connector of the connection cable into the port on the rear plate of xTool M1.
Note: Ensure that you have installed xTool Creative Space (XCS) before using it.
1. Use the USB cable to connect xTool M1 to your computer.
2. Turn on xTool M1, open XCS, and connect xTool M1 on XCS.
3. Place the material on RA2, move RA2 to make the red light spot fall right at the highest point of the material, and close the lid.
4. Select the Roller mode, and click Auto-measure.
5. Import a project file or insert one or more shapes provided by XCS.
6. Set the size of the image, move it to the right of the yellow line, align its left side with the yellow line, and set the processing parameters, including material, speed, power, and the number of passes.
7. Click Start, click Send, and press the button on xTool M1 to start processing the material.
8. Wait for the processing to complete and the smoke exhaust fan to stop running, and then take out the processed material.
