#1 Router Location Optimization

Operation Steps:
  1. Locate the central position in your home, which is usually the living room or the hallway.
  2. Place the router at this position and make sure it is at least 1 meter away from the walls to reduce signal attenuation.
  3. Position the router at a height of more than 1 meter above the ground, such as on a bookshelf or a table.
  4. Ensure that there are no metal objects, large electrical appliances or water bodies around the router, as these may interfere with the Wi-Fi signal.

#2 Update Router Firmware

Operation Steps:
  1. Use a computer or a mobile phone to connect to the Wi-Fi network of the router.
  2. Enter the router's management address (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) in the address bar of the browser.
  3. Enter the username and password to log in to the router management interface (the default is usually admin/admin).
  4. Find the "Firmware Update" or "System Upgrade" option.
  5. Download and install the latest firmware according to the prompts on the interface.

#3 Adjust Wireless Channels

Operation Steps:
  1. Log in to the router management interface.
  2. Locate the "Wireless Settings" or "Wi-Fi Settings".
  3. Select the 2.4GHz wireless channel settings.
  4. Use the "Auto Select" function or manually choose a channel with the least interference. You can use Wi-Fi analysis tools to help select the best channel.

#4 Set QoS (Quality of Service)

Operation Steps:
  1. Log in to the router management interface.
  2. Find the "QoS Settings" or "Bandwidth Control".
  3. Set priorities as needed. For example, set video streaming and online games as high priority.
  4. Save the settings and restart the router.

#5 Enable Guest Network

Operation Steps:
  1. Log in to the router management interface.
  2. Find the "Guest Network" or "Guest Wi-Fi" settings.
  3. Enable the guest network and set an independent password.
  4. In this way, guests can use this network without affecting the performance of the main network.

#6 Restart the Router

Operation Steps:
  1. Locate the reset button on the router. It is usually a small button and may have a lightning symbol on it.
  2. Use a thin and long object (such as a paperclip) to press and hold the reset button for 5 - 10 seconds.
  3. The router will restart and all settings will be restored to the factory default state.
  4. Log in to the router management interface and reconfigure the network settings.

#7 Use Wi-Fi Signal Boosters or Extenders

Operation Steps:
  1. Purchase a Wi-Fi signal booster or extender that is compatible with the router's brand.
  2. Place the booster in the area with a weak signal.
  3. Configure it according to the instructions of the booster and connect it to the main router.
  4. Restart the router and the booster and check whether the signal has improved.

#8 Consider Replacing with a Dual-Band or Tri-Band Router

Operation Steps:
  1. Select an appropriate dual-band or tri-band router according to the needs of your home network and your budget.
  2. Set it up according to the installation guide of the new router.
  3. Copy the settings of the old router (such as the wireless name and password) to the new router.
  4. Test the signal coverage and network speed of the new router.

Please follow these specific operation steps to optimize your Wi-Fi signal. If you encounter any problems, you can refer to the user manual of the router or contact the technical support of the router for help.
