Issue description

  • If you're unable to connect to Wi-Fi or can't locate the Wi-Fi name during setup, follow this guide to troubleshoot common issues.

Wi-Fi network not found

  • If the intended Wi-Fi network name does not appear, try switching to a Wi-Fi network with a stronger signal.

Wi-Fi network found, but setup fails

  • If you can see the Wi-Fi network but the configuration fails, please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

STEP 1: Verify Wi-Fi network consistency

Ensure that the Wi-Fi network your computer is connected to is the same as the one configured for the laser device.

  • If the computer is connected to a different Wi-Fi, switch to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • If it is the same network, proceed to the next step.

STEP 2: Check Wi-Fi frequency compatibility

The following xTool models only support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi: F1 Ultra, F1, M1 Ultra, M1, D Series, S1, and P2 Series.

  • Check if your router is set to 2.4GHz.
    • If your router is set to 5 GHz, switch to 2.4 GHz.
    • If already set to 2.4 GHz, proceed to the next step.
  • To verify your router's frequency:
    • For macOS:
      • Connect to your Wi-Fi network.
      • Navigate to the Wi-Fi icon on the top right bar.
      • Hold down the "⌥ Option key" and click on the "Wi-Fi icon".
      • A window will pop up.
      • Navigate to the "Channel" information where the text will display either 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz.

  • For Windows:
    • Connect to your Wi-Fi network.
    • Navigate to the Wi-Fi icon on the bottom right side of the screen.
    • Click on "Properties".
    • The "Settings" window will pop up. Scroll down to the "Properties" section.
    • The "Network band" will indicate whether the frequency is 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz.

STEP 3: Check for special characters in the Wi-Fi name

Ensure the Wi-Fi name does not contain special characters such as ', ", !, or \.

  • If it does, modify your router's Wi-Fi name.
  • If not, proceed to the next step.

STEP 4: Verify Wi-Fi password

Ensure the Wi-Fi password has not been modified or entered incorrectly.

  • If it has changed, re-enter the correct password.
  • If the password is correct, proceed to the next step.

STEP 5: Check password length

Ensure the Wi-Fi password does not exceed 32 characters.

  • If it exceeds this limit, shorten the password.
  • If it’s within the limit, proceed to the next step.

STEP 6: Check router security settings

Ensure your router is set to WPA2 or WPA encryption (not WPA3).

  • If it’s set to WPA3, change it to WPA2 or WPA. For how to tweak your router security settings, refer to the User Manual of your router.
  • For how to verify your router security settings, refer to the procedures in STEP 2.

Additional Steps:

If none of the above steps resolve your issue:

  • Try restarting both your laser device and xTool Creative Space (XCS).
  • Alternatively, you may resort to a USB cable connection for operation.
If none of these steps resolve your issue, please contact xTool Customer Service at support@xtool.com for further assistance.
