The xTool S1 comes with Smart Air Assist which has 2 distinctive operating modes: manual and automatic. In this article, we'll introduce the modes, and show you how to set up automatic mode via XCS software.
Automatic Mode: Customized Settings for Cutting & Engraving
Step 1: Connection
Begin by connecting the accessory interface of the intelligent air assist to your S1 machine. Affix the air pipe to the machine's air inlet.
Step 2: Gear Adjustment
Tune the airflow gear to 'AUTO,' signifying the automatic adjustment mode.
XCS Configuration: Launch the XCS software and navigate to the settings, typically located in the upper left corner of the machine interface. Here, select the desired power level for engraving or cutting respectively.
The automatic mode function is exclusively compatible with XCS software and is not supported on Lightburn.
The 2W infrared laser head cannot be used with the air assist as it lacks an air nozzle.
Manual Mode: Straightforward Control via Knob
To activate manual mode, connect the accessory interface of the air pump to your machine as usual. Here's the key distinction: in manual mode, there's no need to link with XCS software. When operating in manual mode, the air assist operates according to the values set on its control knob.
In manual mode, you cannot individually adjust the airflow for engraving or cutting; it operates based on the knob setting.
Incorporating the S1 Intelligent Air Assist into your engraving or cutting workflow enhances the precision and efficiency of your projects. Whether you prefer automatic synchronization via XCS or manual control, this practical accessory would offer you flexible air pressure adjustment.
