I have gone through the calibration several times. I have followed various manuals and howto's and xTool Community posts, documents, et cetera. All to no avail.
I can see the camera is located towards the top back portion of the work area. However, I do not understand most of the tutorials and such because their images are lining up. My images are so skewed using them as background references is pointless.
Please see the image below. I had just calibrated the machine, and I left the calibration paper on the platform so I could show this image. I am using the xTool RA2 Pro, or the “L” thing that allows me to adjust the angle of the rotary, and per those instructions I am supposed to have the long part of the “L” on the 4th, or closest to the front (if power buttons are on right) line markers. When I grab an image, it seems as though the camera is in another room with how far off the angle is.
Perhaps that does not convince you?
In the following image, the calibrated red dot is visible on the inside of the bottom of the gold ring. The calibrated blue dot is directly in front of the ring, on the black calibration paper, perhaps 15-20mm from the left edge or the ring. The black calibration paper still shows the two marks from it being calibrated. I placed the green rotary line over the calibration X marks, per some instructions I found.
Now let me see if I can show you what happens when it is time to cook … remember, the ring is perfectly lined up on the X axis with the calibration dots.
Please note the engraving done between the two calibration plus marks. I had it perfectly centered and it engraved just fine, but the blue and red dots are completely useless to me as they are so far off.
How do I calibrate the camera? I am not asking how to calibrate the blue dot, or the red dot. I am asking how do I adjust the camera position/angle?
I am hoping someone sends me a link to some howto that I have not yet found that walks me through this, but I am not hopeful. Also, it may be that I need a better rotary calibration guide, which I would love to have given all the rotary information out there that I have found thus far is pretty much useless and a waste of time with regard to inside ring engraving. (The red dot is blocked by the top of the ring when the rotary is placed at an angle. So I would need to flip the rotary to the left side, flip the image, and I am not even sure how I would line it up.
Maybe two more images to show what I see. The first image is from a cellphone taken to show that the blue dot/line (it is out of focuse because I cannot find a way to calibrate the blue dot for the rotary) and the red dot (it is also at the wrong spot because I left it where it was for the machine calibration using the flat black paper) are both where they would be expected.
The second image is from the F1 Ultra's camera.
No equipment was moved between these images … other than my cellphone camera which did not touch the machine.
How is the F1 Ultra's camera angle of any use for calibration and alignments, which would be used just about every job?
How can this be fixed?
