XCS upgrade now I can't connect

I have an S1 40watt laser. I always connect via USB. I did the latest update and now it will find the S1 but when I try to connect it says Connection failed. Please check the USB connection. If the USB is connected properly restart the device or XCS and try again. I have restarted everything over 10 time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times. Nothing is working. The light on my laser is solid purple as well. Been trying for over an hour and a half. I'm very frustrated. What else can I do. I cant make anything.
