Hey everyone!
just got my S1, First Laser! super pumped!.
i started off by doing a couple test cuts on a piece of plywood, worked like magic! then i wanted to test out my new rotary attachment, problem was… i had to take the crumb tray out to use it! No big deal… out it came… this is where the problems started.
so i took the S1 back off… and attempted to use it without the crumb tray attached to the bottom, the S1 is just sitting on an old tabletop, so im not overly concerned with any marks on it, plus.. i was using the RA, so there should be very little risk.
when i went to engrave… BAM… Stopped by error, it wanted me to connect all the screws… ok… no big deal… took the S1 back off… flipped the riser base (Class I), added 3 screws… flip… reset-up… repeat… BAM… same error… more screws…
i ended up installing the crumb tray under the riser base, with all 14 screws… installed the 6 screws to attach the S1 to the Riser again… back at it… and…
VOILA! it worked!
However… i want to go back to cutting a thin piece of plywood… and it looks like i have to take everything apart and redo this whole process… this seems extremely time consuming and dangerous to the laser to constantly have to tear it apart when i want to switch between rotary… or any item with any depth, and a normal engraving on something thin.
am i missing something here?
