The xTool P2 offers five different processing modes to cater to various materials and applications. To achieve the best results, it's crucial to select the correct mode for your project. In this blog post, we'll explore the differences between these modes and provide tips on choosing the most suitable one for your needs.

Slats Flat Mode:

Ideal for flat objects with a thickness of 0-25mm.

Open Plane Mode:

This mode is used for processing thicker, flat materials ( i.e. 40-64mm thickness). When using this mode, take out the removable baseplate from P2 and replace it with the material to be processed.

For materials thicker than 64mm, you'll need to use the riser base. (Please refer to Use Riser Base to Process Larger or Irregular Objects with P2 for a detailed tutorial.)

Ensure a distance of 0-75mm between the object and the laser head, and remove the slats when in use.

Laser Cylindrical Mode:

Opt for this mode when using the rotary attachment roller or chuck.

To ensure proper operation of the auto-measure function, the highest point of the cylinder should be within 0-25mm from the laser head, with the red dot falling on the highest point during operation. (Please refer to Use the Rotary Attachment with xTool P2 for a detailed tutorial.)

Conveyor Feeder Mode:

Choose this mode when using the conveyor feeder to process longer material. (Please refer to Use Conveyor Feeder to Process Ultra-Long Material Seamless with xTool P2 for a detailed tutorial.)

Curve Surface Mode:

This mode is perfect for processing curved objects such as cups and tumblers, allowing for precise results on non-flat surfaces. Remove the slate, and follow the software prompts to measure the area to be processed. (Please refer to How to Measure Curved Surface with xTool P2 for a detailed tutorial)
