Connect xTool F1 to XCS
You can connect xTool F1 to XCS through hotspot mode, Wi-Fi, or IP address.
Hotspot connection
(1) On the home screen, tap Connect device > Hotspot. Tap Allow location access to permit XCS to access your precise location.
(2) Long press the knob on xTool F1 until the knob indicator turns to solid yellow, which indicates that the device is in hotspot connection mode.
(3) Wait for a while, and you can see your device name on the Hotspot list. Tap it to connect to it.
If you use iPhone, you will need to go to your WLAN settings to access the hotspt network of F1.
Wi-Fi/IP connection
(1) On the home screen, tap Connect device > Configure Wi-Fi. Select F1, and tap Next.
(2) Long press the knob on xTool F1 until the knob indicator turns to solid yellow. In XCS, select Check that the device is in the network configuration state, and tap OK, next.
(3) Follow the instructions of the software to connect xTool F1 to a Wi-Fi network. Then, tap Go to connect.
Note: The device supports only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
(4) Ensure that your phone and xTool F1 are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Under Wi-Fi, tap the name of your device to connect it. After xTool F1 is connected, its knob indicator turns solid blue.
Note: If you cannot find your device through Wi-Fi, try IP connection instead: select IP, input the IP address of your device, and tap Connect.
Set up xTool F1 in XCS
(1) On the home screen of XCS, tap your device name to go to the device details page.
(2) On the device details page, you can view the device information and modify some information.
Device name: Tap to change the device name.
User guide: Tap to view the user guide for the device.
Firmware version: Check for updates and update the firmware if a new version is available.
Wi-Fi setting: Connect the device to a Wi-Fi network.
Hotspot password: Set a hotspot password for the device, so that if others want to connect to your device in Hotspot mode, they need to enter a password.
(3) At the bottom, tap Device settings, and set up the device for work.
Flame alarm: If a flame is detected, xTool F1 will pause processing and raise the alarm. For safety purposes, you are advised to turn on this feature.
Stops when moved: If xTool F1 is moved or tilted during processing, it will pause processing. To use xTool F1 to process materials with slopes, you need to turn off this feature.
Stops when enclosure opened: If the protective enclosure is opened during processing, xTool F1 will pause processing. To use xTool F1 to process materials with the protective enclosure opened, you need to turn off this feature.
Infrared ray preheat: Using the infrared laser for bitmap engraving at a low temperature may lead to unsatisfying engraving results. To ensure better engraving results, you can turn on this feature, so that the laser module is preheated to enter the optimum state before processing.
Buzzer reminders: Turn on the buzzer reminders, and the buzzer will make sounds in situations such as when the device is ready for processing, the processing is completed, and so on.
The supported processing modes
XCS that runs on the mobile phone supports the following processing modes:
Process on baseplate: to process small and flat materials In this mode, you need to place the material on the baseplate of xTool F1.
Use rotary attachment: to process regular or irregular cylindrical materials In this mode, you need to use xTool F1 with xTool Rotary Attachment.
Baseplate removed: to process large, sloping, or thick materials In this mode, you need to take out the removable baseplate from xTool F1 and place xTool F1 on top of the material to be processed.
Use slide extension: to process long materials or multiple small materials at a time In this mode, you need to use xTool F1 with the slide extension.
